On Saturday, November 26th, I ask for your vote of confidence to serve as the City Councillor for St. Vital.                                          It is my desire to be a champion for positive social change in my community. And it is with your support (and vote) that we can finally turn this into . . . a reality!

Let's get the job done: Winnipeg needs a Rapid Transit System

The City of Winnipeg needs a rapid transit system. Why rapid transit? Well, there are several reasons. It would make our city into a more attractive place to live, work, visit or invest. It also supports downtown revitalization. A rapid transit system would mean less travel time and traffic congestion. The average Winnipeg household spends approximately $8,702.00 on transportation. A rapid transit system would help to reduce household expenditures on transportation.
Finally, a rapid transit system will make Winnipeg more competitive. Of Canada's nine largest urban regions that we compete with, Winnipeg is the last to build a rapid transit system. And  our recent investment in rapid transit is by far the lowest in Canada. Rapid transit is good for Winnipeg!

My Commitment to You:

1. Finish what's been started! I am committed to the completion of Phase Two of the      Southwest Rapid Transit Corridor as soon as possible as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

2. All future rapid transit corridors should be technology neutral.

3. I commit to an open and transparent approach to city planning.

ON NOV. 26th LET HARRY FIGHT FOR YOU AT CITY HALL

I am no stranger to politics. In 2007 and 2011 I ran as a candidate for St. Vital in the Provincial Election. I also ran as a candidate for City Council in Winnipeg's 2010 Civic Election. This will be my fourth election.

I love my community called St. Vital. And I believe that I can make a difference! I ask for your vote on Nov. 26.

My wife Valerie and I are longtime residents of St. Vital. Together we live at the Village Canadien Housing Co-op., where we've been involved in the community since 2001. I have been employed in the social services field for 20 years. For the last 10 years I have worked for an agency which provides residential and day services to persons with disabilities. As an advocate for social justice, one of my goals has been the inclusion and full-citizenship of all Manitobans. I'm a strong believer in empowering individuals as well as communities to participate in  society as responsible citizens, not just as taxpayers. On November 26, I ask for your vote of confidence to serve as the City Councillor for St. Vital.
